Sounds like your starter is starting to "stick". This usually will always happen from the heat of the engine. After it cools a bit the starter will "unstick" and work again. To see if this is the issue take a broomstick or something similar and as someone holds down the starter button, tap on the starter with the end of the broomstick. A couple of taps should unstick it and it will turn. If this works for you it may be time to replace or rebuild the starter. I just went through this exact scenario this evening. |

Might also want to see if it is your starter solenoid. Its right behind the passenger seat above the radiator. It sits next to the fusebox in a rubber mount. It looks like a small box with a connector and 2 wires attached with allen screws. There is a 30 amp fuse on it, check that first. If your T-Rex is not cranking when you hit the engine start, try taking a cresent wrench and "jump" the 2 terminals with the allen screws using one end of the wrench. all it takes is a slight tap, if the starter kicks, your solenoid may be the culprit. They are available for about $25.00 on eBay. Carry the wrench till you change it just in case it gets stuck on the road. _________________ 2005 T-Rex 1200 |
