When you say it doesn't start right up - do you mean that it doesn't crank over, or it cranks over but doesn't start? _________________ 2010 White/Silver 14RR

First the obvious. It should start in Neutral with the clutch out. It should start in any gear with the clutch in. There is a neutral switch and a clutch switch that could be corroded.
Also, there is the starter relay. I just cannot remember which one that is right off.
Many times the connections in the wiring can get corroded. Sometimes you can just clean them up and put them back together with di-electric grease _________________ 2010 White/Silver 14RR

Also, found this from boonchie on the old site:
if the 07's are anything like my 04, i had a similar problem... i drove it for an hour or so, no extreme heat though... then i turned it off and it wouldn't start.. i let it sit for a while then about 15 minutes later it started up.. i drove it again for about 30 minutes.. turned it off and it wouldn't start again.. but this time i didn't let it sit.. i was checking the plugs and wires under the dash and one was loose... barely loose but it was loose.. i pushed it back in within about 2 minutes of riding and it started right up.. never had a problem with starting again.. just my 2 cents.. never was a heat issue. _________________ 2010 White/Silver 14RR

Ive had the problem since last year, i bought a brand new relay because the last one got fried. I never have the problem when i first start the bike only after its been running. I will check for any loose wires under the dash like you said. I was thinking maybe its my starter. |
