i actually thought mine did great in the rain. I went sideways once when it was dry. i was going by a car wash and the one side of the road was really slick from people pulling out with their wet cars.. it kicked about 45 degrees but I brought it back around and that was my only scary time

If you are "on the gas" or turning hard, you can easily lose traction on wet roads, sand/gravel covered roads, etc. However, if you are on a layer of water it will hydroplane easier than anything else I ever drove - that's what scares me. It will turn around in a heartbeat.

Standing or puddled water is the enemy. Light or moderate rain if is draining off the road can be handled with care but the fact is the T-Rex is a light vehicle with a large footprint especially in the rear and will ride up on top of the standing water like a water ski. The T-Rex spun at 45 mph as I was dropping my speed, the water was not draining very well and I could not get all 3 wheels on high ground, it happened very quickly. I now have The Weather Channel as an APP on my IPhone so I can follow thunderstorms and use my Zumo gps to run in the opposite direction. Maybe I am just a pussy but one very close call was all I needed to be very careful in the rain.

merging onto a freeway yesterday some lady cut across 3 lanes and just about put me in the wall, guess she didnt look! Good thing the t-rex has great throttle response!

This is a long story so here we go. It was a nice warm Sunday morning in June when I drove some upteen hours to the DC area to pick up my rex that I had just bought from a knowledgeable contributor here on the site (Rick). I got to Rick's loaded up the toy I had been saving many years to buy and after a sturdy handshake Rick told me to be careful because people always get into an accident because they do not respect the power. I looked at Rick and said "oh no I paid all this coin I will respect it".

Once home to NH I unloaded it and putted around town for a week or two and thought I had it mastered. Well I did, about a quarter of it. I was asked to join in on a benefit motorcycle ride with my rex. I took up my spot in the rear of the pack. I had become so comfortable with it that I was shifting without the clutch. Oh I had it mastered. Well the ride was leaving a gas stop and I was last in line. They had traffic stopped in both directions on this busy state road. I exited the station and came to the crest of the driveway where the driveway meets the road and decided it would be a good spot to power shift. Well it wasn't. When I got back in the gas the rear tire spun from the weight transfer of the crest of the driveway. Being the professional driver I thought I was I paniced and let off the gas. Right then the rear tire grabbed like it should have and lauched me off the road. It sent me into a large drainage ditch with weeds over the rex. I remeber just missing a large rock and other debris. Some nice red neck was able to hook a strap to the top roll bar and pull me out. I had some pretty good damage underneath that has since been fixed. The ram air tubes came off and some minor scratches on the side pods. I was lucky that there was not more damage. I just recall saying out loud "Damn Rick". Well regaurdless to say Rick was right, once again. So to the new owners respect the power of the rex.

There that just killed the afternoon for someone at work who is reading this.

I like the story "Fina"....
But Guy I think you said it best. Its too light weight to handle the sitting water. Also keep an eye out for Sprinklers that can make the roads wet on dry days.

At least with rain, you know it's there and can make allowances for the wet roads.

I try to do all my riding in the mountains and have found the biggest worry is gravel in the corners. The cars and trucks leave two tire lines that can be followed on a motorcycle, but the T-Rex geometry means the rear wheel is right in the collection area down the middle.

Remember pea gravel is spread on the mountain roads whenever it gets icy and sometimes it seems, for no reason at all.

Even in summer you find the occasional corner with a strip of gravel down the center of the lane.

Be particularly careful where there are driveways on a corner. Trailers and farm vehicles tend to drag gravel out onto the road as they exit the property.

With all the wieght at the back, once that rear wheel breaks loose, the T-Rex comes around very fast. It's almost a slingshot effect.

So keep your eyes peeled for gravel and have fun.
