JUST HAD A OPTIMA RED TOP GEL BATTERY INSTALLED. WITH AN "ISOLATOR" TO CHARGE BOTH BATTERIES. I HEARD THE T-REX STILL HAS A WAY OF DRAINING THE BATTERIES POWER IF LEFT OFF FOR A FEW DAYS. DOES ANYONE THINK IM GOOD WITH THE ISOLATOR OR SHOULD I ALSO GET A "TRICKLE CHARGER" TO GIVE ME A SLOW OVERNIGHT CHARGE?
DOES ANYONE RIDE WITH EXTRA CHAIN LINKS & SPARK PLUGS FOR EMERGENCIES? WHAT ARE SOME OTHER RECOMMENDED EMERGENCY ITEMS TO KEEP AT ALL TIMES IN THE GIVI's?

I always keep mine on a battery tender when not riding. $20 bucks or so from wal-mart and a simple plug-n-play.

So far, I never had an issue that was battery related. Even with a radio and additional lights, I do not keep them on when the engine is off. It drains the battery REAL quick.

It would be safe to keep an extension cord in the givis, just in case...

The main things I bring with me in my Givi Bags are my AAA card and Wayne's and Rick's phone numbers.

As for a tender I think that is a must if you have any add ons that draw power.

how is that red top working out for you? i use a yellow top and im thinking about switching to either a red top or a marine battery.
