Has anyone installed a 5 pt. harness it their T-Rex?
I have a local Summit Racing store. I went there with a plan to buy a four pt., but ended up with a 5pt. because that is all they had. They said there was no difference between using 4 of the 5 points as opposed to getting a 4 pt, but they were trying to sell their 5 point after all.
I have been using it with only 4 pts attached, but would like to install the 5th submarine belt to keep the buckle from getting up too high in the event of an accident.
Obviously it will involve cutting a slot in the seat and finding a suitable mounting point on the frame. If anyone else has done it, I would like to know whether they had to weld in an attachment point or is there already a suitable place. |

There is a small problem with that. Your fuel tank is under the seat. _________________ X-treme-toyz.net

ok i see i have some doubters . There is NO risk of any boom. the 5th point belt is singular (not the belts that y off to the two thigh belts ) it should be 1 single belt ............take the single belt and the flat plate that comes with your harness kit , the 1 with 2 slots in it, feed the belt threw both slots starting from the bottom up to the top and then back down threw the other slot slide the plate roughly half way down the belt ,(you will have too make the adjustments on where you want the belt to sit by your waist) now the swaybar that is INFRONT of the gas tank that runs from 1 controll arm to the other,.... feed the belt over the top of the swaybar ,then back toward yourself underneith the swaybar ,back threw that plate with the two slots in it ,you have to make a little room where the belt goes threw the plate (roughly 3" temperarely .just so you can feed the belt threw ) you should be in the underside of the belt right now.... it should look good to you now.BUT KEEP THE PLATE AS TIGHT AS POSIBLE TO THE SWAY BAR , this prevents it from sliding all over the bar. now just for a little extra support take the belt after you put it threw the belt plate the 2nd time make it tight to the sway bar and feed it back under the swaybar toward the front ofthe rex and over the top toward the seat and threw the belt plate for the last time.. leave a little bit of extra belt after you come out of the belt plate for the last time and cut with a sizzor and melt the end of the belt so it dosent fray .......be careful not to melt the good part of the belt during the melting of the end DONT FORGET WHERE THE GAS TANK IS EITHER !!!(you might want to mark your area where you want to cut, pull it out of the clip and then melt the end ................. finally BOOOM your done . _________________ if you aint hittin the rev limiter you just aint going fast enough |
