I remember a discussion about ways to keep your Givi lids from smacking the pavement but could not find the post. Here is what I did, it looks stock and works great. I removed the pins that hold the straps to the bag and lid with a small Phillips screw driver. I took an razor knife with a new blade and made a cut about 1/2" an inch long in the middle of the strap. This cut is centered about 1 1/2" from the end. I then pushed a nail set through the cut and heated it with a hot gun to set it. Now just cut off the excess, careful not to cut into the new slot and re-assemble.
