did anyone ever hear a cicking noise coming from their bike while accelerating hard?? when i'm cruising i hear nothing.. when i get on it i hear a noise.. it kinda sounds like after you do a burnout and the rocks are stuck to your tire then when you pick up speed they come off and make tapping noises against the rear fender.. i only hear it when i'm accelerating hard.. it kind of sounds like a low powered stun gun and it's constant until i let off the gas and start to slow down. when i accelerate normally i don't hear the noise.. any suggestions?? _________________ keep on keepin on!!! |

Sounds like a chain/sprocket problem. _________________ 2007 T-Rex 1400R - BMW Laguna Seca Blue -Turbo Powered

I had a similiar problem on my 03. I figured it was a chain issue, but I had several friends watch the chain as I took off and no-one could see any issue.
When I rebuilt the reverse gearbox over the winter, I discovered that the chain had been hitting the spacer at the top rear of the front sprocket cover.
I'm still not sure if it was the worn sprockets or a maybe a kink in the chain, because I replaced both sprockets and the chain while I had it apart. Needless to say, no more rattling/clicking noises after that. |
